Your Contract Matching Just Got Sharper

By ContractRadar

Matching you to new government contracts is the heart of what ContractRadar does — and we’ve made it a lot more precise. Instead of one general feed, you now shape your own alerts by saving searches: describe a kind of work once, switch on alerts, and we email you new matches for it every day. Do several kinds of work? Set up several — each with its own alert.

Matching that fits how your business actually works

Most contractors don’t do just one thing in just one place. Say you run HVAC in Texas and plumbing in Oklahoma. Those are two different kinds of work in two different markets — and now you can tell ContractRadar exactly that. Save one search for “HVAC, Texas” and another for “plumbing, Oklahoma,” and each becomes its own clean, separate stream of matches instead of everything landing in one blurry pile.

Keep as many saved searches as you need. The more precisely each one describes a slice of your work, the sharper its matches — your alerts bend to the shape of your business instead of the other way around.

Save a search in two clicks

Run a search on the search page the way you normally would — describe the work in plain language and add any state or filter you want. With results on screen, click Save this search, give it a name you’ll recognise, and hit Save. It shows up in the Your saved searches row on the search page, ready to re-run any time with every filter restored.

Step-by-step, with screenshots: how saved searches work.

Turn on alerts and let the work come to you

Every saved search has a bell on its card. Click it and ContractRadar starts watching that search for you — when new contracts match, you get one email listing them (title, type, and agency) with a link straight to your matches. No new matches, no email. Turn the bell on for as many searches as you like; each one alerts you separately.

Those matches are also saved to your dashboard, so nothing is lost if you miss an email — the alert is just a heads-up. See exactly how it works: turning on email alerts.

The wording is the whole game

A saved search is only as good as how you word it, and your alerts run on that same wording — so it’s worth getting right. The rule of thumb: keep each search to a single trade and describe the work fully, the way it shows up on the job, not just a one-word category. ContractRadar matches on meaning, not just the exact words, so “commercial HVAC install and repair” finds far better work than “heating”.

We wrote up the do’s and don’ts: how to write a search that finds the right work.

Try it out

Saved searches and email alerts are part of the $30/month Pro plan — searching itself is free (5 searches a day, no card required), so you can try a search and see what comes back before you commit.
