SAM.gov doesn’t cover state. State portals don’t talk to each other.

SAM.gov has saved-search email alerts, and they work — for federal-only bidders with narrow NAICS codes and matching agency vocabulary. Once you bid across states or cities, the system breaks. Each state portal has its own login, its own alert format, and its own filter logic. Most city portals don’t have alerts at all.

The alternative — checking each portal by hand every day — doesn’t scale. Most small businesses try it for a month, miss a contract, and stop. The contract that closed without you bidding is the one you needed most.

How ContractRadar alerts work

01

Tell us what you do

Set up a profile in 5 minutes. Add your NAICS codes, the states you can deliver in, your set-aside certifications (8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, SDVOSB), and a plain-language description of what your business does. The AI uses every piece — semantic match, NAICS, set-aside, location.

02

We monitor 49 portals every day

Federal: SAM.gov (~10,000 active solicitations) and SBA SUBNet (subcontracting). State: 40 states including CA, TX, NY, FL, MA, NJ, IL, GA, VA, PA, and more. Local: Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, LA County, NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco. We pull new postings every day.

03

Each new posting gets scored against your profile

Semantic embedding match (do the contract description and your business description mean the same thing?), NAICS match, set-aside eligibility, location filter, and dollar-range filter all roll into a 0–100 compatibility score. Only matches above your threshold make the cut.

04

You get one daily email

Each contract in the email shows the title, agency, deadline, NAICS, set-aside type, dollar range, compatibility score, and a deep link to the full posting. Click through to your dashboard to rate the match good or bad — the system learns and gets better.

05

Past awards built in

Federal matches also pull historical awards from USAspending.gov for the same agency and NAICS when available. You see who won similar work and at what amounts before deciding whether to bid. State and local awards aren't tracked in USAspending.gov, so this context only applies to federal opportunities.
