Free tier
Free government contract search. No credit card.
Search SAM.gov, SBA SUBNet, and 144 state and local procurement portals from one place. Five semantic searches a day, every day, with no credit card and no expiring trial — built for small businesses that want to evaluate the matching quality before paying for anything.
Permanent free tier. Not a 14-day trial. No credit card.
What you get on the free tier
- 5 semantic searches per day. Describe what your business does in plain language and find matching contracts — even when the agency uses different vocabulary than your industry.
- SAM.gov plus 49 state portals, 48 cities, and 47 counties. Plus SBA SUBNet for subcontracting. The free tier doesn’t restrict your data access — only your daily search count.
- Full contract details. Title, description, agency, NAICS codes, set-asides, response deadline, contact information, links to the source posting. Nothing hidden behind the paywall.
- Email contracts to teammates. Open any contract and hit “Email to teammate” — it opens your email app with a short summary and links already filled in. Just type who it’s going to. Free for everyone.
- No credit card required. Sign up with email, search immediately. We ask for payment only when you upgrade to Pro.
- No trial expiry. The free tier is permanent. Use it indefinitely if 5 searches a day is enough for how you work.
What’s not free (so you can decide upfront)
We’re upfront about the free-tier limits because hiding them wastes your time. Pro adds:
- Unlimited search. No daily cap.
- Daily email alerts. Tell us what you’re looking for once and we email you the day a new match is posted — at most one email a day, only when something actually matches.
- AI match scoring. Each match gets a 0–100 compatibility score that refines as you rate matches good or bad.
- Past award intelligence. Federal matches include historical awards from USAspending.gov when available, so you can size up the going rate before bidding. State and local awards aren’t tracked in USAspending.gov, so this context only shows up on federal matches.
- Set-aside and NAICS filtering. Filter alerts by 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, SDVOSB, or specific NAICS codes.
- Bid tracking. Set a status on each contract you’re chasing — Interested, Bidding, Submitted, Won, or Lost — and filter your dashboard by stage. Your whole bid pipeline lives next to the contracts, not in a separate spreadsheet.
Pro is $30/month flat, no annual commitment, cancel anytime in two clicks. See the full Pro feature list.
How this differs from SAM.gov’s native search
SAM.gov is also free, and it’s the official source of federal contract data. ContractRadar’s free tier is built for what SAM.gov doesn’t do well:
- Semantic vs. keyword. SAM.gov filters by exact keyword and NAICS code. If a janitorial firm searches “janitorial,” SAM.gov misses every contract tagged “custodial services” or “facility cleaning.” Semantic search catches all three. The same vocabulary mismatch costs cybersecurity firms (“information assurance”), staffing firms (“temporary personnel”), and dozens of other industries the matches they deserve.
- Multi-source vs. federal-only. SAM.gov is federal only. State and local procurement portals are scattered across dozens of different state systems and city systems. ContractRadar consolidates all of them.
- Plain-language input. SAM.gov asks you to know NAICS codes, set-aside types, and PSC categories. ContractRadar lets you describe your business in plain language and finds the right matches without you needing to learn procurement taxonomy.
- Built for small businesses. SAM.gov is built for everyone — federal buyers, contractors, oversight bodies. ContractRadar is built for small business sellers.
