Plan Review Inspection Services for Indoor Public Safety Radio Coverage Systems

A. INVITATION The City of Sunnyvale is seeking proposals from qualified companies to provide third party plan review and inspection (“special inspection”) services for indoor Public Safety Radio Coverage systems. The scope of work includes assisting Public Safety officials with plan check activities and providing an independent assessment of radio coverage inside buildings based on the requirements detailed in the California Fire Code Section 510 - Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement Systems as amended by the City of Sunnyvale and NFPA 1225. The City intends to award one contract with a term of up to five (5) years, subject to the terms of the resulting Agreement, available funding, and satisfactory contractor performance. B. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND Proposers must have demonstrated experience with and knowledge of Public Safety Radio Systems and must be independent of any manufacturer, distributor, designer, installer, or maintenance provider whose equipment or work the Proposer may be required to review or inspect under the resulting Agreement. Selected Proposer is expected to work remotely and on-site. Plan check services are provided remotely at the contractor’s place of business. Special inspections are supported by the contractor providing staff on-site to work directly with the City’s customers. The flexibility for contractor staff location results in tailored services to the City.
