INVITATION The City of Sunnyvale (City) is seeking proposals from licensed Engineering firms to provide professional services for design and preparation of bid documents and construction support for the Recycled Water Pipeline Expansion Project 2028 (Project). The scope of work generally includes preparation of: preliminary design, design development, bid documents, and bidding/construction support for Public Works competitive bidding. Ancillary work includes: environmental needs assessment and document preparation, construction cost estimating, schedule monitoring, preparation of reports and recommendations, and project management. The City has requested federal funding for construction through Community Project Funding (commonly referred to as a congressional earmark). If awarded, federal money will not be used for design services, but Consultants should be familiar with the typical processes, procedures, forms, and timelines required of federal-aid projects during bidding and construction. B. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Recycled water (RW) is used for non-potable purposes including toilet flushing and landscape irrigation. The City produces tertiary disinfected recycled water at the Water Pollution Control Plant. The RW distribution system consists of approximately 20 miles of pipeline. It serves more than 100 customers and delivers approximately 300 million gallons per year. This project is to install approximately 2,600 lineal feet (LF) of new 6” or 8” RW mains along new alignments.
