Description
The City of Reno is currently accepting electronic submissions for a qualified professional engineering consultant. This Request is exempt from standard NRS 332 guidelines per Chapter 332.115(1)(b). The selection of a qualified professional engineering consultant is within the discretion of the governing body. The due date for the sealed Request For Qualifications response is 9/25/2026, at 2:00 p.m. local time. All proposals received after the date and time set for receipt will be REJECTED. The City of Reno is seeking a qualified professional engineering consultant to assist the City in the evaluation of the existing sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and sulfuric acid delivery, bulk storage, and dosing systems, and design services for rehabilitating and improving these systems for the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (TMWRF) (Washoe County Nevada-APN: 021-020-02) of the Reno/Sparks area in Washoe County, Nevada. The City assumes that consideration for the design improvements may include replacement of failed existing chemical storage tanks and associated piping, chemical feed dosing pumps, evaluation of secondary containment requirements, and preparation of bid documents and bidding services. It is anticipated that the bulk chemical improvements will be located in the existing chemical storage and dosing facilities. The consultant is to be comprised of professional engineer(s) registered in Nevada, who possesses comprehensive experience in chemical storage and delivery technologies, chemical dosing design, wastewater treatment technology, municipal wastewater facility design, controls systems, and local, state, and federal regulations.
