INTRODUCTION: This Sources Sought Notice is for market research and information purposes only at this time and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is conducting a market survey and is seeking potential sources for the Construct Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Construction project at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Columbia, SC. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The intent of the project is to construct a new single story, 15,756 gross square foot (GSF) outpatient behavioral health center at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, SC. This project will meet the rising demand of medical intervention in an enhanced therapeutic patient centered environment for behavioral health services to include confidential access to professional care, self-help programs, interactive tools and educational resources to help Veterans with life s changes and challenges. This project will include but is not limited to new construction, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, low-voltage, fire protection, fire alarm, utility work, interior finishes, utility coordination, site work, structural, landscaping, underground storm retention,(storm water management systems), asbestos and lead survey abatement where present in areas of the existing hospital and communication utility work inside an active hospital. All tie-ins to existing VA utilities (telecom-fire alarm, electrical etc.) shall be coordinated in advance to avoid service disruptions. PROCUREMENT INFORMATION: The proposed project will be a competitive, firm-fixed-price contract utilizing the design-bid-build approach (Final Specifications and Drawings will be provided).
