The work covered under this project consists of the removal and replacement of the interior coating system (recoating) of the following structures: Four (4) Lime Softener Accelerators located at the Springtree WTP, 4350 Springtree Dr, Sunrise, FL 33351 The Lime Softener Accelerator is a steel basin used in the lime softening process for potable water treatment. The interior of the structure is subject to high pH, continuous immersion/wetted surfaces, and atmospheric exposure above-waterline surfaces. The existing interior coating system has deteriorated and requires complete removal and recoating to restore corrosion protection and ensure compliance with NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water contact surfaces. The recoating of the catwalk frame is also included in this project. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete all surface preparation and coating application work in strict accordance with the specification, conformed bid documents, and the coating manufacturer's requirements. All work shall be performed by qualified contractors with documented experience in the application of industrial protective coatings for water and wastewater treatment facilities. The intent of the project is to complete two accelerators in year one and one accelerator per year for the next two (2) years. Work shall be coordinated with and approved by the CITY to maintain continuous plant operation at all times.
