Government contracts for roofing in Illinois

Roofing contracts in Illinois typically cover open roofing bids for TPO and EPDM membrane replacement, standing-seam metal re-roofs, hail-damage repair, leak investigations, and warranty-period roof maintenance. Federal posts in this category fall under NAICS 238160 (Roofing Contractors), and the bulk of the work flows to DoD installations, the U.S. Postal Service, and VA hospitals. Re-roof projects under $4M frequently set aside for small business, with bonding requirements that favor regional roofers over national chains.

As of October 20, 2026, Illinois has 4 open roofing contracts in our database, with 4 added in the last 30 days. Volume in smaller markets is lumpy: a single base or facility can drive a quarter of annual postings. The most active buyers are THA - Toll Highway Authority (1 open posts) and DHS - Human Services (1), with the rest spread across other federal civilian agencies, DoD components, and state and local departments active in Illinois.

Beyond federal opportunities, much of the roofing work in Illinois is posted through the Illinois Procurement Bulletin (BidBuy), with recurring buyers including the Illinois Department of Transportation, the University of Illinois system, and the Illinois Tollway. Illinois requires BEP (Business Enterprise Program) certification for minority-, women-, and veteran-owned firms to access targeted set-aside spend. ContractRadar pulls federal postings from SAM.gov alongside state and local feeds so a roofing contractor doesn't have to monitor each portal manually.
