INTRODUCTION: This notice is issued solely for market research and information-gathering purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO6) is conducting market research to identify qualified sources capable of performing a Design-Build (DB) project. Services to include Architect and Engineering design services, and Construction services for project 590-27-120 Replace Pneumatic Tube System at the Hampton VA Health Care System in Hampton, VA. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of design-build services for the replacement of the existing pneumatic tube system at the Hampton VA Health Care System. Work includes design and engineering, investigation and verification of existing conditions, removal and disposal of the existing pneumatic tube system and associated equipment, and procurement and installation of a new system in designated areas of Building 110, including the Blood Draw area, Mechanical Room, Interstitial Room, Emergency Department, and Laboratory. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and professional services necessary to complete the project, including system monitoring capabilities, hazardous material coordination, material handling and storage, construction phasing, and coordination with VA maintenance and facility staff. The new system must accommodate current VA requirements and provide an option for future expansion to additional departments, subject to available funding. The contractor must also provide required documentation, training for VA personnel, system activation, and a one-year warranty following final acceptance.
