Description
The City of Council Bluffs, Iowa (City), is requesting bids for the rental of two motor graders from qualified and insured companies, herein called Bidder/Supplier/Contractor. The City may rent a third motor grader if the need arises. All necessary personnel, supervision, materials and equipment to be provided by the Bidder and prices included in the bid should reflect the same. Each item will be awarded independently. Contractor is not required to bid on both items, though it is permitted. The bid will be awarded independently based on the pricing for the first and second motor grader rental. Pricing for the 3rd motor grader rental shall be taken into consideration if the City decides to rent a third motor grader. The work under this bid will be administered and overseen by an authorized designee of the Public Works Department. The price quote on the bid will become the price extended to the City of Council Bluffs for the contract period. CONTRACT TERM: The units will be rented from November 2, 2026, to March 26, 2027. The months of December, January, and February will be on a monthly basis and November and March on a weekly basis. The rate for the partial months of November and March will be monthly rate divided by four. The rental unit shall be in excellent operating condition and fully serviced upon delivery. The motor grader will be kept on/in the Public Works Operations Complex and will only be used for snow and ice removal. Delivery must take place no later than November 2, 2026. BID BOND - In accordance with City ordinance, each bid in excess of $40,000 must be accompanied by cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the City of Council Bluffs, Iowa, for a sum not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
