Description
<p>The City of Vallejo ("City") is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations to design and implement an Urban Greening Workforce Development Training Program that combines environmental justice, urban greening, and hands-on workforce development.</p><p>The selected Contractor will develop and deliver a practical training program that prepares Vallejo residents for entry-level employment and career advancement in horticulture, arboriculture, irrigation, tree planting, landscape maintenance, and urban canopy management.</p><p>The program is intended to create a direct pathway from training to employment by combining classroom instruction, hands-on field experience, industry-recognized or employer-recognized credentials, paid work-based learning opportunities, and connections to municipal and commercial landscape employers.</p> <p>The purpose of this project is to establish a workforce development pipeline that connects Vallejo residents to employment opportunities created by investments in urban greening and climate-resilient landscapes.</p>
