Government contracts for it & software services in Massachusetts

It & software services contracts in Massachusetts typically cover legacy system modernization and custom application development, managed IT and helpdesk support, network and server administration, agency website and portal redesigns, cloud migrations, ERP and case-management implementations, and software licensing and integration contracts. Federal posts in this category fall under NAICS 541512 (Computer Systems Design Services), with related work under 541511 (Custom Computer Programming Services), and the bulk of the work flows to civilian agencies buying through GSA's Multiple Award Schedule, DoD components, and the VA. Federal IT is one of the heaviest users of 8(a), HUBZone, and SDVOSB set-asides, and many state and local IT solicitations are sized specifically for regional firms rather than national integrators.

Massachusetts currently has 12 open it & software services contracts in our database, with 8 added in the last 30 days. That's a steady cadence — enough flow to make automated alerting worthwhile rather than manual portal-checking. The most active buyers are City of Worcester (2 open posts) and Department of Developmental Services (2), with the rest spread across other federal civilian agencies, DoD components, and state and local departments active in Massachusetts.

Beyond federal opportunities, much of the it & software services work in Massachusetts is posted through COMMBUYS, with recurring buyers including MassDOT, the MBTA, and University of Massachusetts campuses. Massachusetts uses statewide contracts (SWCs) — once you're on a relevant SWC, agencies can buy from you without re-soliciting. ContractRadar pulls federal postings from SAM.gov alongside state and local feeds so an IT and software vendor doesn't have to monitor each portal manually.
