ContractRadar Adds 4 Local Buyers, Including Humboldt County, CA and Guilford, CT

By ContractRadar

We have added four more local buyers: Fayette County, WV, the Town of Guilford, CT, Humboldt County, CA and Torrance County, NM. Fayette County is taking sealed bids, due November 17, 2026, to supply and install emergency equipment in eight Sheriff’s Department vehicles, a job for vehicle upfitters and emergency-equipment suppliers.

What’s new

The Fayette County Commission sits in Fayetteville, WV, and Guilford is a town in Connecticut. Humboldt County’s county seat is Eureka, CA. This is Torrance County in New Mexico, not the City of Torrance, California, which we also monitor. At the time of writing (November 6, 2026), Humboldt had 1 open solicitation, Fayette 1, Torrance 3 and Guilford 1, so six in all.

The work on offer

Examples that were open at the time of writing:

  • Vehicle upfitting: the Fayette County Commission invites sealed bids to furnish and install emergency equipment in 8 Dodge Durango Pursuit Police Package vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department (ITB-2026-0001, due 3:00 PM ET on November 17, 2026). The vehicles are purchased separately. The county may award the equipment alone or the equipment with installation, so an install-only shop should read the bid first. The county may use grant funds, and award depends on funding and Commission approval. Bids go by mail or hand delivery in a sealed envelope, and postmarks do not count.
  • Housing development: the Town of Guilford is seeking competitive proposals from a qualified firm to develop affordable housing on an 11-acre tract on Saw Mill Road (RFQ/RFP #2-2627, reference RFQ-2026-0002, Planning & Zoning, due December 1, 2026). It reads as a search for a developer, not a construction bid, so check the solicitation for who is eligible.
  • Insurance and professional services: Torrance County has three RFPs open. They cover fully insured life and disability coverage (TC FY26-27-010, due December 3, 2026), an Economic Development Specialist (TC FY26-27-009, due December 10, 2026) and a Domestic Violence Advocate (TC FY26-27-011, due December 10, 2026). None of them is trade work.
  • Supplies: the County of Humboldt is buying white 8 ½ x 11 copy paper with at least 30% recycled content (27-001, due December 10, 2026). It is a supply contract, not trade work.

How to register and bid

Each portal lets you browse open solicitations, but to download full documents, receive addenda, ask questions or submit a response you generally need to register as a vendor with that buyer’s portal. Towns and counties often have their own requirements, such as insurance certificates, bid bonds or prevailing wage rules, so read the solicitation’s instructions before you price the job.

How ContractRadar monitors these portals

ContractRadar syncs all four of these sources daily and scores new solicitations against your saved searches. Matches appear in your opportunities dashboard and your daily email alert, alongside the federal, state, and other local sources we track. See the full coverage map for every monitored source.
