ContractRadar Adds 5 More City Procurement Portals

We just added 5 more city procurement portals to ContractRadar, spanning 3 states — Florida, Texas, and California. The batch includes Florida’s state capital (Tallahassee), a new Texas Panhandle city (Amarillo) and a DFW city between Dallas and Fort Worth (Grand Prairie), and two Southern California cities in the Inland Empire and the Antelope Valley (Ontario and Palmdale). Every one of these cities posts solicitations on its own procurement portal, separate from its state system, so those opportunities never appear in a statewide search. ContractRadar syncs them all daily.

Why local coverage matters

City and county governments buy constantly — construction, public works, IT, professional services, facilities, parks, water and wastewater — and they post those solicitations on their own portals, not their state’s. A contractor watching only a statewide system never sees the city next door. 5 new city portals

These five cities each publish solicitations on their own procurement portal, which we sync automatically every day:

• Tallahassee, FL — City of Tallahassee procurement portal(~0.20M), Florida’s state capital in Leon County. The city runs its own procurement portal, separate from Leon County (which ContractRadar already covers as a distinct buyer). With 11 active solicitations at the time we added this source, the city is an active procurement buyer.
• Amarillo, TX — City of Amarillo procurement portal(~0.20M), the largest city in the Texas Panhandle. Amarillo opens a new Texas region for ContractRadar — we cover DFW, Houston metro, Austin metro, and Lubbock, but the Panhandle was a gap. The city is a distinct buyer from every other Texas source we already monitor.
• Grand Prairie, TX — City of Grand Prairie procurement portal(~0.20M), a DFW city straddling Dallas, Tarrant, and Ellis counties, between Dallas and Fort Worth. Grand Prairie is a separate buyer from Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington (all already covered).
• Ontario, CA — City of Ontario procurement portal(~0.18M), in San Bernardino County in the Inland Empire. This is Ontario, California — distinct from Ontario, Oregon and Ontario, Canada. It is a separate buyer from the City of San Bernardino and Fontana, both already covered by ContractRadar.
• Palmdale, CA — City of Palmdale procurement portal(~0.17M), in the Antelope Valley in northern Los Angeles County. Palmdale is a separate buyer from Santa Clarita, Glendale, and the City and County of Los Angeles, all of which ContractRadar already covers.

How to register and bid

Each portal lets anyone browse open solicitations, but to download full documents, receive addenda, ask questions, or submit a response you register as a vendor. Registration is free on all of these portals. The single most important step is keeping your commodity and service categories accurate — that’s what controls whether the portal notifies you about a relevant opportunity. Many of these jurisdictions also run local or small-business preference programs; if you qualify, get certified before the solicitation you want shows up.
