REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 2-for-1 Heatsink Remanufacturing 1.0 Scope This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis and Request for Industry Comments (RFIC). DLA Aviation, 417th Landing Gear Squadron, and Enterprise Hill Commodity Council (EHCC) is conducting an RFIC for market research purposes to gather information regarding a potential 2-for-1 Heatsink Remanufacturing contract to include remanufacture of carbon heatsinks including, but not limited to, the following platforms F-16, F-15, C-130, and C-5. The National Stock Number Items currently considered for inclusion on the potential contract are listed below: 1630-01-478-4076 (F-16 Light Weight Heatsink Assembly) 1630-01-333-1843 (F-16 Heavy Weight Heatsink Assembly) 1630-01-652-8251 (F-15E/EX Heatsink Assembly) 1630-01-588-9014 (C-130 Heatsink Assembly) 1630-01-592-5894 (C-5M Heatsink Assembly) This list may be modified prior to solicitation. Initial Market Research indicates that Collins Aerospace is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and that the Government does not have complete, unrestricted data packages available. 2.0 Background The heatsink assemblies include all the parts that have friction which, when clamped together, cause a stop. The heatsink assembly is installed into the brake assembly. The brake assembly is the main deceleration and braking device for the aircraft. The brake is operated by hydraulic pressure from the aircraft hydraulic system. Subject Heatsink Assemblies are designed to be utilized for the F-16, F-15, C-130, and C-5 platforms. These items are a piece of hardware manufactured to exact measurements. Interface dimensions are unique, defined, tightly controlled and specific for each platform. Heatsinks are utilized by commercial airframes however, configuration, size and fit are specific for each and would not provide the required interface.
