Description
The City of Sunrise desires to contract with a qualified proposer to furnish and install network data and voice communication cables, cabling systems, ancillary equipment and accessories at various locations. Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and incidentals required to furnish and install network cabling as needed. This work will include, but is not limited to, terminating vendor-supplied patch panels installed in City-supplied data cabinets, installing data drops, fiber optic cabling and terminations as specified by the City IT Department, copper voice cabling and terminations as specified by the City IT Department, direct burial cabling where required, and wall plates. Data cables shall be Category 6 or higher, as specified by the City IT Department, and terminated with RJ45 data jacks. Category 6 shall remain the City standard. Category 6A may be specified by the City IT Department for higher bandwidth applications, Power over Ethernet (PoE), wireless access points, or future expansion. The vendor shall provide a unit price for potential data drops and labor by the hour. Work shall be done during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All pricing shall follow the descriptions listed in Attachment II – Cost Proposal. Acceptable parts/brands: Panduit, Leviton, CommScope (formerly AMP), Siemon, Hubbell, Belden, or approved equal. Other parts/brands must be preapproved by the City IT Department.
