The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) Environmental Laboratory, Wetlands and Coastal Ecology Branch (EEW) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Ocean Marine Industries, Inc.(d/b/a Ocean Marine) upon the basis of the authority provided at RFO 12.102(a). The requirement is for the procurement of imaging sonar systems to conduct research related to coastal restoration. Requirement: The sonar imaging unit shall fulfill the following specifications: One (1) ARIS 1800 � Adaptive Resolution Imaging Sonar, Dual that includes Ocean marine part number 21002, ARIS Command Module, Sonar Power Supply, Ethernet Cable, 15m Underwater Cable, ARIScope Software, ARISFish Software, Topside GPS Receiver, Transit Case, Operators Manual and a 12-month Warranty. Cable with Reel and Transit Case: Ocean Marine Part Number 16334 that is 60m in length. Cable with Reel and Transit Case: Ocean marine part number 16331 that is 30m in length. Optional Items: One (1) AR3 Rotator package: 3-Axis, 300m Depth Rated Rotator that includes Ocean Marine part number 21005, 3-axis joystick, rotator cable for AR3, Mounting brackets, AR3 power supply, Transit case, Operators manual and a 12-month warranty. Ocean Marine Industries, Inc. has been identified as the only source capable of providing the ARIS imaging sonar units due to the highly specialized, proprietary nature of their patented technology. The ARIS 1800 utilizes patented acoustic lens and transducer technologies owned exclusively by Ocean Marine Industrial, Inc. No other manufacturer is legally authorized to produce or distribute systems utilizing this design. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
