This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract nor does the Government intend to directly pay for any information or responses submitted as a result of this solicitation. This is a Sources Sought Synopsis; there is no solicitation available at this time. This Sources Sought Synopsis is published for market research purposes only. Companies may be contacted if further information is needed. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis to seek a contractor for future work pertaining to the B-52H engineering services starting 01 January 2028. The Boeing B-52H Stratofortress is an American long-range subsonic jet-powered strategic bomber. The B-52 was designed and built by Boeing, which has continued to provide support and upgrades. It has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since 1955 and was flown by NASA from 1959 to 2007. The bomber can carry up to 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) of weapons and has a typical combat range of around 8,800 miles (14,200 km) without aerial refueling. The sustainment of the B-52H currently includes the delivery of engineering design, engineering support, and technical support services crucial for the ongoing maintenance and operational readiness of the B-52H aircraft, including its components and associated support and test equipment. The original estimated minimum/maximum amount for the B-52H sustainment contracts was $1.15B over ten (10) years (2019-2028) for engineering services Contract efforts are subject to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.232-18 availability of funds. The sustainment contracts currently contain multiple contract types at the contract line-item level (e.g. firm fixed price, cost plus incentive fee, cost plus fixed fee, etc.) This Sources Sought Synopsis only addresses the B-52H engineering services requirements starting 01 January 2029.
