Description
Work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to: Cold milling; removing and replacing AC pavement; AC and ARHM pavement surface course overlay; adjusting valve covers, manhole covers, and pull box covers to-grade; removing and replacing damaged concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk; modifying/installing new curb ramps; constructing reverse curb and gutter with transition; restriping existing lane configuration; removing existing signal poles and equipment; constructing new signal poles and equipment; removing existing signal controller cabinet and service enclosure; installing new signal controller cabinet and service enclosure; installing new wiring for signal equipment; and other items not mentioned here, but required by the Project Plans, Project Specifications, and Special Provisions. Prevailing wage requirements apply to public works projects with a value exceeding $1,000.00. The definition of “public works” is found at Labor Code Section 1720, et seq. The CITY is subject to the provisions of law relating to public contracts in the State of California. It is agreed that all provisions of law applicable to public contracts are a part of this Agreement to the same extent as though set forth herein, and will be complied with by CONTRACTOR. CONTRACTOR shall abide by all applicable Sections of the California Labor Codes including Sections 1770 - 1781, et seq. In accordance with the provisions of Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the Work is to be performed shall be in accordance with the rates posted on the Department of Industrial Relations website, found at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dirdatabases.html. The CONTRACTOR, and any subcontractor under him, shall pay not less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed in the execution of this Agreement.
