Description
Since December 1, 2014, Frederick County, Maryland has been governed by a County Executive and County Council pursuant to the Charter of Frederick County, Maryland. The County provides a full range of services, including fire and rescue, law enforcement, sanitation services (including water, sewer, and solid waste management), construction and maintenance of highways, streets, and infrastructure, recreational activities, healthcare, and general government activities. In 2022, the County transitioned to a self-insured program for worker’s compensation. In 2024, the County moved to a high retention program for liability. The County will be continuing the self-insured workers’ compensation program, plans to shift to a self-insured program for other lines of coverage as outlined within this solicitation, and seeks to select a third-party claim administrator to manage claims under those lines.
