Description
General Scope. These specifications cover the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, and materials, and their use in connection with the sterilization of weeds at FAA owned or leased space/property. The work consists of the application of soil sterilization/contact killer chemicals along with the identification of areas sterilized at facilities maintained by the Federal Aviation Administration. Follow-up services are to be provided in case of an unsuccessful sterilization at no additional charge. Site Locations. Attached list shows the designated locations. Coordinating/Scheduling. The contractor will meet with the FAA Point of Contact (POC) at the beginning of the contract to discuss work methods and scheduling. The POC will be responsible for inspecting and accepting services at each location prior to payment. Weather Delay. The contractor shall coordinate work activities with POC each day prior to beginning the next day�s work activity. The FAA POC may suspend and/or reschedule all work activity if outdoor weather conditions pose a threat of damage to adjacent farms, ranges, and cattle areas. Access to Worksite. The contractor shall be required to perform all work during normal working hours (7 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The FAA POC will provide for contractor access and will provide for required FAA escort of the contractor to all facility locations. Access to Albuquerque ATCT: Albuquerque ATCT is located on Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB). All contractor employees must be able to be able to pass a background check performed by the Air Force when entering on to KAFB. The contractor will then be escorted from the guard gate to the weed control locations that are located on the base. Protection of Property.
