Purpose This Sources Sought Synopsis is being issued for market research and acquisition planning purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation, Invitation for Bid (IFB), Request for Proposal (RFP), or commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. No reimbursement will be made for costs associated with responding to this notice. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is conducting market research to identify contractors with the interest, capability, equipment, and resources necessary to perform the Tybee Island Shoreline Protection Project. The results of this market research will be used to assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition strategy, including the availability and capability of small business concerns. 2. NAICS Code and Small Business Size Standard The anticipated NAICS code for this acquisition is 237990 � Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, which includes dredging and surface cleanup activities. The applicable small business size standard is $37.0 million. For the dredging exception under NAICS 237990, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern to qualify as small for purposes of Government procurement. 3. Project Description The Tybee Island Shoreline Protection Project consists of the periodic placement (renourishment) of compatible beach-quality sand along the federally authorized shoreline to restore storm damage reduction benefits, reduce coastal erosion, and maintain the authorized proje…
