Description
The USDA intends to award a sole?source, firm?fixed?price contract to Mol Breeding Biotechnology LLC for targeted sequencing and genotyping of tropical?derived corn lines under the Germplasm Enhancement of Maize (GEM) Project. The requirement includes probe?in?solution target enrichment, kernel chipping, DNA extraction, advanced library preparation, high?quality sequencing, and comprehensive bioinformatics analysis using proprietary, validated SNP panels (~45,000 primary SNPs and ~10,000 secondary SNPs). These panels are essential for maintaining continuity with existing GEM datasets and can only be provided through MOLBREEDING BIOTECHNOLOGY LLCs specialized workflows. Due to the unique technical tools, germplasm?validated markers, and integrated sequencing?to?analysis processes required, the Government has determined that this requirement can only be met by MOLBREEDING BIOTECHNOLOGY LLC within the 180?day performance period. Capability statements from other vendors will be reviewed solely to assess whether competitive procurement is feasible. The decision to compete the requirement rests solely with the contracting officer, and no reimbursement will be provided for the submission of capability information.
