The City of Morristown is soliciting bids for qualified vendors to provide compacting and hauling of recyclables. For purposes of this ITB, bidders can assume services under a new contract may begin January 1, 2027. The Hamblen County-Morristown Solid Waste Disposal (HCMSWDS) is to receive the single stream recyclables from the City of Morristown and Hamblen County Highway Departments curbside pick-up at its facility located at 3849 Sublett Road, Morristown, Tennessee 37813. The bidder will then compact and haul the recyclables from HCMSWDS to Smurfit Westrock Knoxville Recycling at 1323 Proctor St NW, Knoxville, TN 37921. The designated location is expected to remain unchanged; however, should a relocation become necessary, the location will be updated accordingly. The successful bidder is to provide the necessary equipment to compact and haul recyclable materials.
